Resident Evil 4 on PlayStation 2 is the 2005 survival horror / third‑person shooter developed and published by Capcom, ported from the original GameCube release. Set six years after Resident Evil 2, you play as Leon S. Kennedy, now a U.S. government agent sent to rural Spain to rescue the president’s kidnapped daughter from a cult known as Los Illuminados. The PS2 version retains the over‑the‑shoulder camera, action‑focused combat, and real‑time environments that redefined the series, while adding extra content like the Separate Ways campaign starring Ada Wong and additional bonus modes and weapons. Visually it is a noticeable downgrade from the GameCube version due to PS2 hardware limits, but it became a fan‑favourite port because it’s a mostly intact version of the game with all that extra content packed in.
